Fortnitemares is officially here. Players can log into the game and start experiencing the event thanks to the weekly update released today. There are new skins, leaks, in-game decorations, and more.
One aspect loopers look forward to is the challenges that come with any event. These often represent a way to unlock free cosmetic rewards or earn a little bit of Chapter 3 Season 4 XP.
At this time, there are challenges for three completely free cosmetics. These challenges are available to everyone. Here's how to complete them and unlock the rewards.

Chapter 3 Season 4: Fortnitemares quests and rewards
The event will last until November 1, which means gamers will have roughly two weeks to complete these challenges. Fortunately, they will probably be completed rather organically.
The challenges are as follows:
- Earn 10 Account Levels
- Reward: Chromeseed Backbling
- Earn 25 Account Levels
- Reward: Graveyard Rave Loading Screen
- Earn 50 Accounts Levels
- Reward: Chrome Punk Skin
In order to get all three rewards, you will need to level up 50 times in two weeks. That may seem like a lot, but there are plenty of ways to do this.
Method 1: Daily challenges
Daily challenges may not seem very beneficial, but at least three of them are. Those three come with extra XP granted. Ordinarily, a daily Fortnite challenge is worth 1,000 XP, but the first three come with 15,000 extra.
Method 2: Weekly challenges
Every season, weekly Fortnite challenges are the best way to level up. They're worth 20,000 XP this season, up from 15,000 last season. The battle pass is still a grind, but these are released every week and represent the best option.
Method 3: Storyline quests
For the last several seasons, Fortnite gamers have had to do storyline quests to figure out the proceedings. This is a clever way of Epic Games getting everyone to pay attention to the storyline, but it's also useful for earning XP and leveling up.
Method 4: Milestones
Milestones were introduced in Chapter 3 Season 1 and instantly became an excellent way of leveling up. Most of them are easily completed over time. This is because they usually involve common tasks like hitting weakpoints, eliminating players or thanking the bus driver.
Here are the XP totals for each type of challenge this season:
- Daily - 1,000 XP
- Daily Bonus Goal - 15,000 XP
- Weekly - 20,000 XP
- Weekly Bonus Goals - 50,000 XP
- Milestone - 6,000 XP
- Milestone Bonus Goals - 20,000 XP
- Narrative Quests - 32,000 XP
- Kickstarter Quests - 35,000 XP
- Bytes Quests - 30,000 XP
Method 5: Save the World
Since XP has become harder to acquire over the last few seasons, alternative methods like Fortnite Creative maps and XP glitches have grown more popular. These aren't the ways Epic wants everyone to level up, but there are still alternatives.
Save the World has XP available that goes towards the Battle Royale battle pass, making it an excellent method to level up without having to grind out challenges.
