Fall damage has often eliminated many a player in Fortnite as it bites off a massive chunk of your character's health bar. As a result, players know better than to jump from high altitudes in this Battle Royale. However, recently, a Fortnite content creator, OctoFloofy, tried to eliminate themself on purpose but failed to do so.
This player took to Reddit, a popular social media platform, to share a strange incident that they happened to be a part of. OctoFloofy posted a video on the r/FortNiteBR subreddit where we can see them jumping off Mount Olympus and landing in a building below without taking any fall damage.
There was a comment on the Reddit post that said:
Master the game with our Fortnite Interactive Map v33.00 here!
"He's beginning to believe"
Redditor SirPugly made an apt The Matrix reference where Morpheus acknowledged Neo's acceptance of the Matrix in the movie. Neo was able to avoid getting hurt by entities trying to kill him and OctoFluffy achieved a similar feat by not dying after falling from Mount Olympus.
This is an extremely unlikely scenario and the original poster was shocked as much as the rest of the people who viewed the clip. OctoFloofy said:
"How did I not die?"
They flung themself off Mount Olympus expecting to get eliminated but they were handed out a rather anti-climatic outcome. Their character did not make any sound while hitting the ground nor did they take a hair's worth of damage. All they could do was look around in amazement.
Fortnite player shocked after surviving a fall from Mount Olympus
OctoFloofy, along with the people in the comments of his post, was shocked after they survived a massive fall from Mount Olympus. One Reddit user said:
"I can feel your "huh" expression when moving the camera around lol"
We can see the original poster looking around, dumbfounded and processing the odds of surviving a fall from the top of Mount Olympus. Players usually know that a fall from such a height is fatal and tend to avoid such activities.

That said, OctoFloofy mentioned their desire to die quickly to justify their action and they also said they were disappointed with their failed attempt at ending their game quickly.
One Redditor commented that landing on a car or a bush almost always cushions your fall and prevents you from dying in this game. However, we can see OctoFloofy landing on the ground without anything to soften the impact. So, while this observation by Engage69 might be credible, it does not apply in this scenario.
There were a lot of other players who were making The Matrix references saying that the original poster was the "chosen one" and that they managed to find the glitch in the system.
