The Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) skin in Fortnite was first added in Chapter 5 Season 3 with the update v30.40 on August 12, 2024. As per the Star Wars lore, Moff Gideon was a human warlord. He led a remnant of the Galactic Empire during the early era of the New Republic. These were loyalists to the cause. Moff is also known for his role in the Great Purge of Mandalore which resulted in the death of hundreds of thousands of Mandalorians.

Aside from his reputation as a commander, Moff is also a fierce fighter. Donned in his dark armor, which is made from Beskar, he is formidable in one-on-one combat. When he was confronted by Din Djarin aka The Mandalorian, and others, he barely broke a sweat in the fighting that ensued.

Now, he's finally part of the Metaverse and can also be used while exploring new LEGO Fortnite seeds. A fun fact about the character is that he has been created using Giancarlo Esposito's likeness.
