The Safety First Steve skin in Fortnite was introduced in Chapter 5 Season 3 with the v30.20 update on July 14, 2024. It goes without saying that Safety First Steve takes inspiration from the great white shark. This character, however, is not out looking for blood, but rather on the lookout in the true sense as a lifeguard. The Safety First Steve skin was undoubtedly added to the game for All Sweat Summer (2024).

What's interesting is that the logo on his vest is new. It has not been seen before in-game and could represent an unknown faction, group, or organization. There's not much known about it at the moment. What is certain is that you can use Safety First Steve while exploring some of the best LEGO Fortnite seeds out there. If you decide to settle on the Shore biome, he would fit right in.

As of today (July 14, 2024), the Safety First Steve skin is listed in the Fortnite Item Shop, alongside other cosmetics specific to the character and associated with the Safety Shark Set.

The set comprises these five cosmetic items:

Safety First Steve (Outfit + Selectable Styles)
Safety First Steve (LEGO Outfit)
Rising Tide (Back Bling)
Sharkbites (Pickaxe)
Shark Watch (Item Wrap + Animated + Reactive)
