Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 has arrived. Now that the servers are live, players are on their way to experiencing a brand new era of the game with a fresh loot pool, unexplored POIs, and a revamped UI built on Unreal Engine 5. Suffice to say, the community is excited.
As you load into the game to check out the new Battle Pass and the Chapter 4 Season 1 map, you will notice several new challenges listed in the Quests tab. However, with anticipation amongst loopers running high ever since the new chapter was announced, they resorted to leaks to learn more about what awaits them in the game during the downtime.
Several leaks across the internet had informed fans that a certain set of Week 0 challenges would be available for them to complete in exchange of Battle Pass XP immediately after they loaded into the game. Now, we have more information about the same since the servers are up.

The first set of challenges requires players to perform a new movement maneuver called the Hurdle on any obstacle. Here's how you can complete this quest in Chapter 4 Season 1.
Hurdle over objects for smooth sprinting in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1
The Hurdle is a movement maneuver that players first saw in the Chapter 4 Season 1 Gameplay trailer. It allows them to leap over an object and maintain their sprint momentum when moving forward. Needless to say, the movement mechanic will only work when players are in sprinting motion.
To Hurdle in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1, you have to press your designated sprint key and run towards any grounded object placed at a certain height. Earlier, you would have had to stop upon reaching the object while sprinting. Now, you can automatically leap or hurdle over the obstacle and continue to sprint in a forward direction.
This mechanic will be highly useful for players who like to take the Run-n-Gun approach to ambush enemies. On the other hand, some may use this mechanic to run away from their opponents and escape sweaty situations on the Fortnite Battle Royale island.
It is unclear as of now if there is a certain setting you can enable to Hurdle by default. In case you are unable to maneuver yourself over objects, make sure to enable Hurdle in your gameplay settings, which is where you can also activate Sprint by Default, a classic Fortnite movement mechanic.
Upon performing this action once, players will be able to complete the challenges in their Week 0 Quests tab succcessfully. This will grant them upwards of 20,000 XP, which will help boost their account level so they can unlock more Fortnite Battle Pass tiers.
