Epic Games has released thousands of Fortnite cosmetic items since the video game's release in September 2017. Considering that the game is free, its developers make money by selling these cosmetics.

Despite these items not providing any competitive advantage, millions of players have purchased them. In fact, some players have spent thousands of dollars on their Fortnite accounts, which sounds insane.

If you've ever wondered how much it would cost to buy every single Fortnite cosmetic item from the Item Shop, this article will reveal the answer. Keep in mind that this article only includes Item Shop cosmetics, which does not cover Battle Pass, Crew, and other items.

While Epic Games has released many free Fortnite cosmetic items over the last few years, most can be obtained from the Item Shop. Due to this, players who want to purchase items need to have V-Bucks, which is a premium currency used to purchase cosmetics.

V-Bucks can either be obtained from the Battle Pass or purchased. The smallest pack of V-Bucks costs $7.99 and adds 1,000 V-Bucks to the account. Unfortunately, this amount is not enough to buy most of the skins, which is why most players purchase at least 2,000 V-Bucks.

As of February 14, 2023, the total cost of all Fortnite cosmetic items in the Item Shop is 2.4 million V-Bucks.

Assuming that you purchase 1,000 V-Bucks for $7.99 each, it would take around $19,300 to obtain every single cosmetic item released to the Fortnite Item Shop.

Epic Games has released 1,504 skins (outfits), cumulatively costing 1.4 million V-Bucks. Converted to US dollars, this is equal to around $11,600. Considering that there are hundreds of Legendary skins that cost 2,000 V-Bucks each, this is not surprising at all.

When Fortnite Royale was first released, there were only a few different cosmetic items. Players were primarily interested in skins, harvesting tools, and emotes back then, but Epic Games has added many new types over the last few years.

Many cosmetic items are available right now, including skydiving contrails, music packs, loading screens, and more. Considering that Epic will most likely release the first-person mode next season, weapon charms will probably be added to the game at some point.
