Safes were introduced to Fortnite in Chapter 2, Season 5. When it comes to collecting gold bars, they are the best source to find some in-game. When opened, they provide 75 gold bars and some XP. Since they can be found nearly all over the island, opening them is a great way to make easy money.

As part of the Bargain Bin week challenge, you will have to open one safe. Given that this task is trivial at best completing it shouldn't be a problem in one match. With that said, the following dives into how to open a Safe quickly and efficiently in Fortnite.

A step-by-step on how to open a safe in Fortnite

1) Land at Syndicate Shoals or Tow-Away Beach

Although Safes can be found all over the island, opening them takes some time. During the process, you can be shot or eliminated by opponents if your guard is let down.

Furthermore, even if you are proficient in combat, finding a safe is not always easy. They are usually tucked away in some corner of a structure or building, so looking for them can be time-consuming.

For all these reasons, it's best to land in safe locations far away from the fight and have easy-to-find Safes. That said, the two locations are Syndicate Shoals and Tow-Away Beach landmarks. They can be found far east of Lustrous Lagoon and Fort Jonesy.

2) Look for a Safe inside the house and approach it

Since there will not be any opponents (hopefully) at these landmarks, there's no need to rush and secure gear. The first order of business is to find a Safe and open it.

The Safe at Syndicate Shoals can be found on the first floor of the building. You'll also find Evie (NPC) walking around inside the building. Be careful not to shoot or attack her, as she will retaliate.

The Safe at Tow-Away Beach can be found inside the shack that's on the beach. It shouldn't be too hard to spot as they stick out like a sore thumb. That being said, once found, the next step is to interact with them.

3) Press the interaction button and wait until it opens

You'll need to stand close enough to the Safe for the interaction prompt to appear. Once it does, press it, and you'll start opening the Safe. Given that Safes have a few security protocols in place, opening one will take some time.

Once the process is completed, a stack of gold bars (75) will appear on the floor. The only thing left to do now is pick up the gold bars, secure some loot, and get on with the rest of the match.

If you have landed at Syndicate Shoals, you can interact with Evie and activate a rift to rotate swiftly. If you're at Tow-Away Beach, a vehicle should spawn behind the shacks in the parking lot. You need to rotate inward.

Note: While a Safe does spawn at both of these locations, they may not be present in every match.
