How to plant star sensors and cosmic monitor in Fortnite Chapter 4

A new set of Oathbound Quests was released in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 last week and progressed the medieval storyline this season. These quests grant up to 20,000 XP each upon completion as the player base awaits them to arrive in-game every couple weeks.

The extra XP granted as a reward to loopers helps them progress across their Battle Pass faster. The Part 2 of Oathbound Quests introduced loopers to a new character called Rift Warden Stellan, who aims to build a Rift Gate for The Ageless Champion to explore new realities.

However, to do the same, Stellan seeks the help of loopers in building the gate by placing several pieces of equipment and sensors he can use to open a bridge to said realities. In this quest, players need to place star sensors and a cosmic monitor that is key in opening the gate.

Fortnite Oathbound Quest Part 2 Stage 2 guide: Plant star sensors and cosmic monitor

The second stage of Oathbound Quests Part 2 requires loopers to plant star sensors and a cosmic monitor on the Fortnite island, which is key in bridging Stellan's Rift Gate to new realities. Upon completion, the quest will grant 20,000 XP to players.

To complete the Oathbound Quest in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1, follow these steps:

1) Head to the Oathbound Quests Tab to see the location of the sensors and cosmic monitor

Before progressing with the Fortnite challenge, open your Oathbound Quests tab on the sidebar and click on the quest you are attempting to complete. You will then see where to plant the star sensors and cosmic monitor.

The marked location is in the center of the Fortnite map, which lies southeast of Anvil Square and north of Faulty Splits. Some players might identify this location where they can see Helsie roaming around the area.

2) Land on the marked location, loot weapons, and hire Helsie

As soon as you land on the marked location on the Fortnite map, you can spot Helsie roaming around the area. The location also consists of at least two loot chests that you can open and loot weapons to stack in your inventory to defend yourselves.

Alternatively, you can hire Helsie to act as protection in case of enemies lands nearby and start shooting at you. Since the location is exposed and surrounded by hills that give players high ground, you are more vulnerable to opponents. Having something or a teammate to defend you while you attempt the quest is wise.

3) Find and Interact with all six-star sensors

Six-star sensors in front of a tall rock surround the area. Walk over to any one of them and interact with it. You will now see a star sensor planted on the ground.

Keep walking towards the other five spots and interact with them one by one to complete planting the star sensors. You can then walk around the area to check if you have missed any.

4) Head towards the center and plant the Cosmic Monitor

Once you plant all six-star sensors, walk towards the middle structure, a giant circle on the ground. You will notice a highlighted hatch above a golden circle in the center. Walk towards it and interact with it.

You will now be able to see the Cosmic Monitor successfully placed. This equipment will be used in the next stage of the Oathbound Quests to start the Rift Gate and get it working.
