Fortnite update v23.40 was dropped today and brought a bunch of new quests for players to complete to gain some extra XP and level up faster across their Battle Pass. The update also added four new Augments, exotic weapons, and unvaulted classic Fortnite guns and brought them back to the island.

Moreover, a new questline event called Most Wanted was also added after several teasers for a heist-themed event that was due to arrive anytime soon. Now that it's here, an entirely new Raise Your Heat Level system is introduced to players where their activities during the match will make them more vulnerable to enemies and can grant them several power-ups through exotic weapons.

Among the Reality Augments that players received this week, two are suited to assist players while completing the Most Wanted quests released with the update. One particular quest requires players to increase their Heat Level. Here are all the possible ways you can do so in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1.

The Most Wanted questline was released earlier today with the Fortnite update v23.40 and brought several new challenges for players to complete in exchange for extra XP and free rewards. The quests are separated into five sets that will become progressively available to players as they complete them. They are - “Intel & Recon,” “Going In Loud,” “Going In Quiet,” “Cracking the Vault,” and “Clean Getaway.”

Completing most of these quests in one set will unlock the next set and a Cold Blooded Medallions, which can be cashed in to get free cosmetics. Players can also get free rewards by positioning themselves among the top players on the Most Wanted Leaderboards.

However, to complete the first quest and Raise Heat Levels, here are the three viable methods you can choose from:

1) Opening Containers, Chests, Safes, or Cash Registers

Players must search containers, ice machines, ammo boxes, loot chests, safes, etc., to gain more heat and progress slowly to the final heat level. After opening up enough of those, you'll get a heat boost, and your progress increases on the Heat Level bar on the top left-hand side of the Fortnite game screen.

2) Damaging Opponents

The next method allows players to gain more heat by consistently damaging their opponents. If you like to play high-kill matches in Fortnite, you don’t need to worry about raising your heat levels as they increase every time you damage a player. This is a slower yet extremely effective method to do so faster and further than opening containers.

3) Buy Heat Levels from a Burner Pay Phone

The fastest method comes at a hefty price of 500 Gold Bars. Players can head to a nearby Burner Pay Phone and purchase additional heat levels, requiring them to spend 500 gold bars at every level they want.

This increases the heat level of a single player and the entire team at once.

Raising heat levels in Fortnite also comes with an advantage. Every increase gives players certain power-ups that they can use during their match. They are:

  • Level one: Eliminated opponents drop more Bars.
  • Level two: Your movement speed increases by 15%, and you’ll regenerate up to 100 Health out of combat.
  • Level three: Your movement speed increases by 20%, and you’ll regenerate up to 100 Health and 50 Shield out of combat.
  • Level four: Your movement speed increases by 25%, and you’ll regenerate up to 100 Health and 100 Shield out of combat.

Players can use these benefits to help their heist go off without a hitch as they take on cold-blooded opponents and claim their prize to unlock free rewards in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1.
