If you are looking forward to getting the Serge skin in Fortnite for free, you're in luck. Epic Games is giving away the Outfit via the OG Community Cup (January 19, 2025). This is a Duos-only Cup, where both you and your teammate's skills will be put to the test. Make no mistake, while it is limited to the community, many hardened veterans will participate in this Cup.
To get the Serge skin in Fortnite for free, you will have to rank high enough during the OG Community Cup. But, as always, there are a few parameters that you must keep in mind to ensure that you can secure enough points to claim these freebies. In a way, this might be even harder than defeating Godzilla during a casual match.
You can get the Serge skin in Fortnite for free, but it won't come easy
The rank needed to secure the Serge skin in Fortnite for free will vary depending on the region from which you are playing.

Those in the Oceania (OCE), Asia (ASIA), Middle East (ME), Brazil (BR), and North America West (NAW) regions, will have to rank within the top 100 to get the Outfit. Additionally, the players will get the Surging Edge (Pickaxe) as a bonus.
For players hailing from Europe (EU) and North America Central (NAC), only the top 1,000 and 900 respectively will be rewarded with Serge skin in Fortnite for free. Once again, the Surging Edge (Pickaxe), will be granted as a bonus.
The Surging Edge (Back Bling) and Serge’s Surge (Wrap) can also be earned by all players from valid regions by securing 40 and 8 points respectively. As always, per the rules for the OG Community Cup, points will be based on eliminations and other factors.
Note: Keep in mind if you are from Turkey and/or Russia, you will not be eligible to receive any prize despite ranking high.
Could the Serge skin be featured in the Fortnite Item Shop at a later date?
For the time being, there is no mention of the Outfit and other associate cosmetics being featured in the Item Shop again at a later date. However, given that Epic Games has recently done away with exclusivity when it comes to cosmetics, it will likely be featured sometime in the future.
