Simple Edit in Fortnite is the latest feature introduced to the feature-packed Chapter 6 Season 1. This samurai-themed installment features a host of new items, resources, and movements that can transform the gameplay experience. Amidst that, Epic Games introduced a new way for players to build and edit their structures in-game, making it a rather handy tool.

Simple Edit is a new build setting in Fortnite that allows players to edit builds with a single press of a button. Earlier, players had to enter edit mode and select the tiles to get the desired edit and make the change. This was a rather cumbersome process and took a while, especially for players who are new to building.

But with the introduction of Simple Edit, players can just look at a build from different angles to get their desired build — looking on the left side of a wall will prompt an angle while looking at the middle and interacting with it will add a window to the wall. This new system allows players to edit on the fly without needing to enter edit mode, make the edits, and then confirm them.

To use Simple Edit in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1:

• Head to your in-game settings and go to the Game tab. Scroll down to the building section and enable the Simple Edit toggle.
• Once enabled, head to a game and build a structure.
• After building, look at it or point your reticle at different sides or angles of the build to get to different variations of the particular structure.
• If you wish to reset the changes, simply hold the edit button to undo your changes.

With Simple Edit in Fortnite, structures like walls can be edited to create variations such as angles, windows, and more. As for stairs, you can utilize Simple Edit to rotate it or add/remove a lane to it. On the other hand, you can modify floors and ceilings to change sections or fill in missing ones.

This new method eliminates the old format where players had to enter edit mode to reset their changes as well

The Simple Edit in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 is particularly helpful in the middle of a battle or for new players who are getting used to the building mechanic in the game. Epic Games has stated that since this is a relatively new feature, they will keep gathering data and make additional changes and balancing in the future to improve the gameplay experience for players.
