“Looks way better”: Fortnite community reacts to player’s redesign for the Persephone Outfit

Fortnite recently announced the Persephone Outfit as part of the Crew cosmetics for July 2024, bringing the game's iteration of the Greek Goddess Queen of the Underworld to the Battle Royale island. However, while the announcement of the outfit is exciting, some members of the community reckon the design could use some work so that it reflects the Greek Mythology theme a bit more.

This is highlighted in a recent Reddit post shared by u/privativev, where the player showcased a concept for a redesign of the Persephone Outfit. The concept bears a strong resemblance to the more mystical themes followed by the Hades Outfit in the Chapter 5 Season 2 Battle Pass, giving Persephone a long coat and a mask similar to one worn by Hades.

The Reddit post ignited a flurry of reactions from the community, with Reddit user u/KawaiiKaiju55 expressing their appreciation for the Persephone Outfit redesign and stating:

Other members of the community also took to the comments to react to the Persephone redesign and even made jokes, with u/Jabroni5092 jokingly suggesting how the Aphrodite Outfit and the Persephone Outfit boast normal human clothes. This is in contrast to other Greek Gods such as Zeus and Hades.

Redditor u/Legitimate_Fail2272 highlighted the presence of respirator-like masks in both the Persephone redesign as well as the Hades Outfit, joking about how bad The Underworld would smell. In contrast to this, u/balladofwindfishes pointed out how Persephone's NPC dialogues reveal that she enjoys the smell of decay and rot, so Persephone wearing a mask wouldn't make sense.

When will Persephone be released in Fortnite?

Persephone is set to be a part of the Crew in July 2024. The Crew membership is a monthly subscription service that provides players with access to exclusive outfits, ranging from original skins like Persephone to collaborative outfits like Loki Laufeyson. This means she will only be available to players who are members of the Crew.

The Persephone outfit should be automatically granted to Fortnite Crew members once she is added to the game on July 1, 2024. The outfit could also come packaged with cosmetics like its own back bling, so be on the lookout for that.
