Fortnite iOS continues to be a point of contention between Epic Games and Apple, as Apple rejects the Epic Games Store from coming to iOS devices in the EU region. Despite the recent introduction of the Digital Markets Act by the European Commission, it seems Apple is keeping its foot down when it comes to keeping Epic Games and Fortnite iOS out of their devices.

The Digital Markets Act, which was passed by the European Commission, allowed the Fortnite developers to deploy the Epic Games Store on EU iOS devices, finally bringing Fortnite iOS back for players, albeit in a limited capacity. While this was previously seen as a triumph for Fortnite iOS players, Apple's rejection once again leaves the entire situation quite convoluted.

For those unaware of the extensive history of the Apple v. Epic Games conflict, the two tech giants have been at odds since the latter attempted to implement its own payment method to work around Apple's monetization policies in the App Store. This didn't sit well with Apple, removing Fortnite from App Stores worldwide and trapping iOS players in Chapter 2 Season 3.

There is no doubt that Apple's rejection of the Epic Games Store complicates things for the future of Fortnite on iOS devices. This, however, does not come as a surprise as Apple has been constantly trying to hinder the return of Fortnite to iOS devices, including terminating Epic Games' developer account.

For the time being, Epic Games has submitted an appeal regarding the issue to the European Commission and is still gearing up to release the Epic Games Store in the coming months. However, it is unclear how the rejection from Apple will impact the release of the Epic Games Store and the wait that iOS players will have to endure.
