FNCS, also known as the Fortnite Championship Series, is the biggest tournament organized seasonally by the popular Epic Games title. Some big changes are coming to the format of the tournament in Chapter 4 Season 2, and it will be interesting to see how players adapt to them.
Fortnite is played by millions of casual players all around the world, but there's no denying that its competitive side can be riveting as well. Talented pros like TaySon and Anas have more than a million in earnings, which is impressive to say the least.

Epic Games has introduced several changes with the release of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2. A large part of the island now constitutes a fresh biome altogether, and the new season looks similar to Season 9, which was fast-paced with a futuristic theme.
So it is no surprise that a couple of changes have been made to the competitive system as well. FNCS will no longer rely on the Divisional Cup system, as announced by Epic Games in a blog post.
"FNCS Major 2 will not be using the Divisional Cup system, in an effort to allow more players to compete in FNCS."
Essentially, players only have to reach the Champion League to be able to participate in the prestigious tournament. They have to rank up to the eighth division in Arena mode, as has been the case previously. Epic Games did announce that the divisional system may return in the future, but it will have a new and improved format.
The gameplay and cinematic trailers released earlier today also revealed new mechanics, weapons, and a fresh Battle Pass.
More details about Fortnite's competitive modes
As many players already know, Epic Games resets the Arena Hype at the start of every single season. Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 will not be an exception, and every player will start the season with 0 Hype.
While cash-prized competitions such as the Fortnite Championship Series will be available to players who reach the Contender League, Epic will also host Zero Build competitions over the course of the season that will require no Arena rank and be available to everyone.
FNCS Major 2, beginning on April 13, 2023, will be played in the Duos game mode. The grand finals, which will take place over two days, will commence on May 12. The latest change will allow more players to compete in this grand tournament. While the situation is overall favorable, some competitive players are still unsure about the new system.
Epic Games will organize many different competitions this season, from PlayStation Cups to Victory Cash Cups. In total, there will be 10 weeks of competitive Fortnite in Chapter 4 Season 2.
