The Fortnite downtime today (December 18, 2024) is scheduled to begin at 7 AM ET. Matchmaking will be disabled at 6:30 AM ET, and the servers will be live again by 8:30 AM ET. This downtime paves the way for v33.11, the second major update for Chapter 6 Season 1.

Based on the information available, this update will usher in the content for Winterfest 2024. It will consist of Crackshot Cabin (Landmark), Sgt. Winter (NPC), and other Winterfest assets like certain weapons and items. Map changes will also be implemented, and some parts of the island will see snow.

If you plan on playing until the servers go offline to gain a bit of extra XP, consider opting for Creative Maps to avoid losing progression in ranked modes. You could also explore different seeds in LEGO Fortnite till the downtime starts. You'll gain some passive XP this way.
