The Fortnite downtime today (June 27, 2024) will begin shortly. This will be the second minor update and downtime for Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3. Epic Games has dubbed this update as v30.20.01. Based on the information provided, this update will usher in Duos for Fortnite Reload, which is the newest mode within the game's ecosystem.
Similar to regular downtimes, Epic Games will be taking the servers offline at 3:30 am Eastern Time. The Fortnite downtime today (June 27, 2024) will begin 30 minutes later at 4 am Eastern Time.
Those still in the game should try and wrap up the session as soon as possible if they're playing Ranked or LEGO Fortnite. It would be a shame to lose out on your progress. Based on the information provided by Epic Games, the Fortnite downtime today (June 27, 2024) is scheduled to last for two hours from 4 am to 6 am Eastern Time. This is subject to change, but since this is a minor update and "brief downtime" as mentioned by the developers, the timeline should be maintained. Content changes for Fortnite update v30.20.01
There is no new content coming to the game aside from Duos for Fortnite Reload. Given how well received it has been, Epic Games is expanding the number of playlists with the mode. According to leakers/data-miners, Fortnite Reload Trios is also being worked on and could be added within the next month.
That said, this should also likely be the last update before Epic Games' Summer Break which begins on July 1, 2024. It will end on July 12, 2024, following which the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean collaboration will go live on July 19, 2024.
