According to the latest Fortnite leak, a 5v5 first-person mode is seemingly coming sometime in Chapter 6. The information was exclusively shared by veteran leaker ShiinaBR. Given his track record regarding leaks and that first-person mode was officially made available to UEFN Creators, this is all but a confirmation.

Here is more insight into this Fortnite leak and what you could expect from it.

5v5 first-person mode likely coming in Chapter 6 Season 1, Fortnite leaks suggest

Based on the information at hand, the 5v5 could be a first-person mode exclusively. This is because the first-person mode is still in an experimental phase, and switching cameras mid-match may not be feasible. That said, this upcoming 5v5 mode could be limited to simple team-based elimination. The team to secure the most eliminations within a given time frame will win the round.

As for the loot pool, there is no indication as to what weapons could be featured. Epic Games may introduce weapons that do not clip with other cosmetics and/or Outfits to ensure the mode works smoothly.

In terms of XP, much like all other modes, this will likely grant some playtime XP, but there may not be any quests/challenges for players to complete. That said, eliminations could make up for the bulk of XP that can be earned. It could very well function similarly to Reload, allowing players to respawn quickly until a timer is activated or until there are no respawns left.

When could the 5v5 first-person mode go live?

Without a timeline to go with, it is unclear when this mode could go live. However, it is reported that this would likely happen sometime after Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 1 launches on December 6, 2024, and Winterfest 2024 is in full swing. If anything, this mode could go live in January 2025 to bring in the New Year celebrations. Leakers will provide an update when more information is available.
