Fortnite leak hints at collaboration with Blade Runner; a dystopian-themed Season could be in the pipeline

A collaboration between Blade Runner and Fortnite is reportedly slated to arrive, but details are slim. For instance, since Blade Runner has two film adaptations, it's unclear which one will be considered. Furthermore, it has a vast universe that spreads across various novels, comics, films, TV series, and more, giving Fortnite ample material to adapt.

Epic Games could implement aspects from both films, as they have done for other franchises such as Star Wars, which encompasses characters from across multiple films/shows.

If such is the plan, we could expect to see characters such as Niander Wallace, Rick Deckard, Officer K, and Joi added to the game as Outfits. Of course, this would all depend on what is popular among players. Since most characters are picked based on popularity, there's no guarantee that all aforementioned names will make the cut.

Nevertheless, Rick Deckard should be part of the collaboration as the character, played by Harrison Ford, was the original protagonist of Blade Runner (1982). He was also featured in Blade Runner 2049. With his likeness already being used in-game for Indiana Jones, he's a prominent choice for Epic Games. Fans would love to cosplay as Rick Deckard using Harrison Ford's likeness.

This leaves us with only one question: When is the collaboration set to arrive given that the current phase of the storyline is out of sync with the Blade Runner theme?

When could we expect the Blade Runner x Fortnite collaboration to arrive?

Since the Fortnite leaks regarding this collaboration are limited in detail, it has to be assumed that things are in the early stages of development. Since Chapter 6 Season 1 focuses on Japanese culture/mythology, one might assume the cyberpunk-themed Blade Runner wouldn't fit in well. However, with the latest Cyberpunk 2077 collaboration being activated during this phase of the storyline, this season could be the right time to release the Blade Runner collection.

Alternatively, Epic Games is no stranger to dystopian themes. Maybe future Seasons of Chapter 6 could be set in a dystopian future setting similar to that of Blade Runner. For all we know, the collaboration could be the headline act that's being planned. That said, it's best to assume that the collaboration is being planned for later Seasons, perhaps sometime during early to mid-2025. Leakers and data miners will have more insight to share when there is an update available.
