As per the latest Fortnite leaks, Epic Games is working on moddable pistols. The information was brought to light by leaker/data-miner @Loolo_WRLD. They have been a reliable source of rumors for quite some time now, having correctly predicted upcoming content that was released at the start of Chapter 6 Season 1. That said, here is more on what to expect from pistols in the near future.

Based on the details shared by @Loolo_WRLD, Epic Games is working on making pistols (all of them), compatible with scopes. Pistols, in general, already have a very tight crosshair, especially if you are crouched and shooting in a controller manner. Of course, there are certain limitations, mainly the range and visibility aspect, but overall, they are solid weapons for crack shots.
That said, if scopes are made compatible with pistols, the issue with range limitations could be omitted. Players could potentially land shots at over 200 meters with ease. Even if bullet-drop is added, players possessing good accuracy could smash some domes. What's more, the game could even add it as an Accolade players can earn.
What modes will rumored pistols be moddable in?
Based on the information at hand, it is unclear which modes said feature will be available for. As of this writing, @Loolo_WRLD reports that whether this will be for the Battle Royale or some other core modes, is unknown. With Epic Games expanding upon modes rapidly, it could potentially be for a new one that's currently in development.
