Fortnite leaks suggest Chainsaw/Ripsaw Launchers-related feature in development
Based on the details from the leak, the upcoming feature is called "SpikyBird" and is closely related to Chainsaw/Ripsaw Launcher. It is unclear what this could be, but it works similarly to those weapons. Since this will be a gameplay feature and not a new item, it is rather perplexing as to what Epic Games is working on.
If an educated guess were to be made, we could hypothesize that this new feature could be part of an upcoming boss. They are known to have some very intriguing and wacky mechanics at times. Judging by how complex the bosses of Chapter 6 Season 1 are, Epic Games will likely try to up the ante during the next phase of the storyline.
If not related to bosses, the upcoming feature could be some kind of in-game mechanic or perhaps a mod for a vehicle. With Epic Games also supposedly working on the Vehicle Royale mode, this thought is also worth considering. That said, more information will be needed before any conclusion can be drawn regarding this new feature.
When could the Chainsaw/Ripsaw Launchers-related feature be released?
Since both leakers/data-miners mention that the tentative timeline is Chapter 6 Season 2, we have a release window in hand. However, the exact date is not yet known. Epic Games usually adds content to the game over some time.
As such, this new feature may not be introduced at the start of Chapter 6 Season 2. Keeping that in mind, it is left to be seen when things come to fruition. If nothing, we at least have an idea of what to expect for the next major update (v33.20) for Chapter 6 Season 2. There's enough content to keep you busy until the new feature comes into play next month.
