According to recent Fortnite leaks, it would seem that Epic Games is still working on a dedicated Item Shop for Save The World. It is unclear how long development will take, but according to the information on hand, things are shaping up rather nicely. A concept image was shared on the social media platform X by @Fortnite_STW, showcasing how the final design could look.

That said, these Fortnite leaks were brought to light by users @archer_fortnite and @icKrisp. As mentioned, while details are short on hand, the function of the Save The World Item Shop could be similar to that of the Fortnite Item Shop.

However, granted that some cosmetics can be used in both modes, the notion of a secondary Item Shop is rather perplexing to some users. Here's more on the topic at hand.

Fortnite leaks showcase upcoming Save The World Item Shop

In the normal Fortnite Item Shop, Outfits can be purchased and used in Save The World. Players can also buy cosmetics for LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival. As such, it is rather confusing as to why Epic Games is working on a dedicated Item Shop for Save The World.

It can be theorized that this Save The World Item Shop will have resources that players can purchase using V-Bucks, but that makes little sense. Since the mode is PvE, everything a player needs can be collected during missions or shared between teammates.

The only other reason for having a dedicated Item Shop for Save The World is that Epic Games plans on introducing cosmetic types that will be exclusive to that mode. However, for the time being, there is not much information regarding this hypothesis. While numerous unused cosmetic types are floating around in the game's files, none are actively being worked on or have been scrapped.

That said, it is truly unknown what Epic Games has planned. It could be an upgrade to the current Llama Shop, but more Fortnite leaks regarding the same will be needed before anything concrete can be said.

For the time being, it's all based on speculation and guesswork. Given that Epic Games uses codenames and placeholders for things in development, it may not be an Item Shop at all. It could be something entirely different.

When could the Save The World Item Shop go live?

With Epic Games still working on things, there is no timeline in place. There are no Fortnite leaks that suggest a release window either. Since Save The World has taken a backseat in many ways, it is probably not a priority for the developers. As such, only a small team might be working on it which would logically mean that development will take time.

Given how major of an add-on this would be, it could be released during Fortnite Chapter 6 alongside the Fortnite open-world game mode "Arnold." You can expect more Fortnite leaks on the Save The World Item Shop to surface over this year.
