According to recent Fortnite leaks, it would appear that Epic Games is working on creating a Vehicle Royale mode. As the name suggests, this game mode will function similarly to Battle Royale, but with vehicles. The information was brought to light by leakers/data miners @Loolo_WRLD and @blortzen. The individuals in question have been providing accurate insight into upcoming content for a while now.
Here is more information on the mode that might become a part of Fortnite soon.

Fortnite leaks suggest Vehicle Royale mode will feature NPCs as well
Based on the details shared so far, the Vehicle Royale mode could feature up to two teams. This would suggest that it will not be a free-for-all. This is because a tag called “Blue team vehicle” was recently added to the files. With Red versus Blue being ever popular in Creative, Epic Games seems to have used the same tag to signify the presence of two opposing teams.
The leaks also suggest that NPCs will be present in this mode. For the time being, it is unclear if players will be able to hire them as passengers or if they will have their own vehicles. Since this will be a team-based match, NPCs could feature as helping hands, driving their own vehicles around the map/arena.
Given that we already saw the ability to mod vehicles with weapons brought to reality in Chapter 5 Season 3 (Wrecked), this upcoming mode could also feature mods.
Perhaps new vehicle mods are in development for the Vehicle Royale as well. We could see the Armored Battle Bus make a return, allowing players to band together in one vehicle and wreak havoc on the battlefield. The Titan Tank could also come back. The possibilities are endless.
When could the Vehicle Royale mode be introduced to Fortnite?
As of now, there is no timeline in place for the introduction of the Vehicle Royale mode. Given how limited the information at hand is, we have to assume that development is still in its early stages.
As such, it could be a few months before an official update or unofficial leak provides more in-depth details about the mode. If nothing else, we can rule out the possibility of Vehicle Royale being added in Chapter 6 Season 1.
Either way, this will be stand-alone mode, so it shouldn't interfere with the main storyline of Battle Royale/Zero Build by any means. Given the feedback of players during Chapter 5 Season 3, segregating this mode will be for the best. That said, an update regarding this mode could surface sometime during Chapter 6 Season 2.
