Fortnite Reload Duos have just gone live, allowing players to take to the OG experience with a friend or just a random teammate as 20 teams of two battle it out to secure the Victory Royale. The Duos mode announcement came as a surprise yesterday when Epic Games took to social media channels to confirm the release of the game mode.

Now that the mode is here, Epic Games has seemingly done more than just add the Duos mode to Reload but also brought some changes to it. This article will break down what changes and modifications the developers have implemented in the Reload mode with the launch of Duos.

According to the Fortnite Reload Duos patch notes, certain in-game mechanics have been altered to provide a more efficient and balanced experience for players hopping into the Reload playlist.

All changes made with the release of Fortnite Reload Duos are listed below:

  • Increased crawling speed while a player is “down-but-not-out”
  • Increased drop rate for Shotguns in chests
  • Decreased drop rate for Mythic and Exotic items

These changes seem to be both a reflection of player feedback and experience ever since the release of Fortnite Reload. Changes such as the increased crawling speed being a clear step towards Epic Games further push the Reload mode as a faster-paced experience than regular Battle Royale.

When will Fortnite Reload Trios be added to the game?

Now that the community's calls for a Duos mode in Fortnite Reload have finally been answered, it does bring up the question of when Epic Games is planning to add Trios to the Fortnite Reload mode. Well, there is good news for players for this addition as the Trios mode can already be found in the files for Fortnite Reload, as revealed by leakers such as @FN_Assist.

This means that the developers are already planning on introducing Trios to Fortnite Reload soon, and while the exact release date of the Trios mode is not yet known, it may be released after Epic Games is back from their Summer Break for 2024.
