Based on the latest leaks, an old vehicle is set to return to Fortnite very soon. HYPEX has stated that planes are returning to the game next week. This is the first major vehicle change this season.
Over the course of Fortnite's long history, there have been quite a few types of vehicles. Cars and trucks, which previously served only as a source of metal materials, are now all driveable (with the exception of the ones with boots).
Shopping carts were the first vehicles to be introduced all the way back in Chapter 1 Season 4 followed by golf carts the next season. Since then, there have been choppers, ballers, quadcrashers, driftboards, ballers, mechs and many other vehicle types.

The Planes were a big part of Chapter 1 when they were first introduced in Season 7. They've been out of the vault a few times and are returning now.
The planes were renamed X-4 Stormwing, but are the same ones from earlier seasons. Since they are being leaked as a result of this week's update, Fortnite players can expect them to arrive with next week's Chapter 3 Season 4 update.
How to use planes in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4
Planes will probably spawn in a few places around the island. One of the complaints surrounding planes from previous seasons was that there were too many, making gameplay chaotic.
As a result, they'll probably only be found in a few spots on the map this time around, similar to when Choppas were recently reintroduced and would spawn at Seven Outposts. A similar strategy might be in the works for planes.
Players will need to interact to enter these planes and take off from the ground, although this could take a few seconds. After that, Fortnite gamers can fly up or down and move forward in the plane.
The planes can seat a total of five Fortnite players, although most gamers will have three teammates at the most.
It has a gun that can fire at players and builds, but will eventually overheat.
Planes have health points, so it is important not to let them get destroyed while in the air, as they will immediately explode, killing everyone onboard.
Additionally, it is important to remember that planes use fuel, and should they run out, they will nosedive to the ground and explode upon impact. To avoid this, refuel with a gas can or at a gas station, but always land before it runs out.
