The announcement was officially made on X by @FNCompetitive on August 14, 2024. The Battle Royale Duos Cash Cup is one of the most popular open tournaments in Fortnite. It is conducted every week and anyone can participate with either a friend or a random fill partner.
While the exact figures are not announced yet, it is great news for all the Fortnite pros considering that both FNCS and Cash Cups have only seen a decrease in the prize pool for the past 2 years. If things go well, we could see an increased prize pool for all the regions as well as Zero Build Cash Cups.
One of the biggest NA region teams, Dignitas took to the comments to express their excitement:
"OMG its Christmas in August"
The post saw hundreds of comments and reposts within its first hour. Most of these comments were from NA and EU region pros, expressing their excitement about this announcement.
However, some people also left comments demanding an increase in the prize pool for other regions, which is less than half compared to NA and EU.
