According to the latest Fortnite leak, enthusiasts will be happy to know that Mechagodzilla is likely getting its skin in the game. The information was brought to light by veteran leaker/data miner @HYPEX on social media platform X. It has been widely shared by others in the fraternity as well. Although many felt that a Godzilla collaboration would feature Mechagodzilla, no one had any information about it. Thanks to @HYPEX, it can be said with some certainty that a mechanoid version of the kaiju will be coming to the game as a skin. However, it is unclear which iteration of the Titan will be featured.
Its first appearance was in the 1974 film Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla, wherein it was depicted as an extraterrestrial villain. The other was in the 2021 film Godzilla vs. Kong, wherein Mechagodzilla was created by Apex Cybernetics. It was designed to be the ultimate apex predator and titan-hunter.
Since the version of Godzilla in-game is from the MonsterVerse, the Mechagodzilla skin is likely to follow suit. It may have glowing eyes that players can change the color of, and perhaps Emotes showcase its different abilities. However, this does not mean that Mechagodzilla will be useable as a boss.
Only Godzilla and King Kong are slated to become playable bosses in Chapter 6 Season 1. Nevertheless, the fact that Epic Games is considering adding Mechagodzilla is a dream come true for many fans. Based on the information at hand, the skin and other cosmetics should go live end of this week on January 17, 2025 (Friday), but keep in mind that this is subject to change.
