According to the latest Fortnite leaks, the Zapotron could be added back to the game. Considered by many as the most powerful sniper rifle ever, it was introduced during the pre-season and kept in the loot pool for a while. However, due to it being rather excessive, Epic Games eventually vaulted the weapon, and it has not seen the light of day for over seven years.
The information of Zapotron's potential return was brought to light by veteran leaker/data miner @HYPEX and has been shared by others on X. Given their track record, this is more than just guesswork. Proof of the weapon coming back has been found in the game's files itself. As such, it is only a matter of time before Epic Games un-vaults it for use. Fortnite leaks suggest the Zapotron could be added for Fortnite OG
There is no timeline in place (or official confirmation) for the Zapotron's return. However, leakers/data miners seemingly have a hint as to where the weapon could be added. Since it was part of the game's OG days, the only logical conclusion is that it could be added to Fortnite OG.
With Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 1 slated to end on January 31, 2025, the weapon could be introduced in OG Chapter 1 Season 2. Since this will mark the start of a new timeline, it would make sense to add new weapons/items to the loot pool to spruce things up.
Since Epic Games is not exactly sticking to time-period-appropriate content, the Zapotron has a high chance of being part of the loot pool. The only thing left to be seen is how effective the weapon will be in combat. It could be nerfed to adjust its values in terms of damage output and other stats.
