There has been a lot of player speculation thanks to a number of leaks released by dataminers that have been making the rounds on social media since the last week.
Some of these disclosed key information about the next season, which is widely expected to have a futuristic theme. It may include a slew of new items and features that will dramatically alter the way players enjoy the game.

It has been speculated that the new Fortnite season will start on March 10, 2023, when the current Oathbound and Cipher quests will end. This implies that players will be completely cut off from the game for around 48 hours, about the same time between Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 when the infamous black hole appeared.
Recently, Fortnite's official Twitter account hinted at the confirmed date for the new season's release, which is currently March 10, 2023. The image of a lizard guy preparing food in front of a Japanese restaurant was also posted with the hashtag #FortniteMEGA.
Since the hashtag became popular when it was released, hints have also been dropped about the rumored name of the new Fortnite season, which is reported to be MEGA. Several players have also been spreading the word on Twitter by sharing the official MEGA hashtag banner that Epic Games has been using for promotions.
Players are hyped up thanks to a sequence of tweets that seem to hint at a radical makeover for the entire island in the near future and a strong connection to the current Cipher questline. Moreover, they were recently tasked with putting up recruitment posters around the island with the recently released quests earlier this week.
However, unlike previous seasons in Fortnite, players will not be treated to a live event at the end of this one. Instead, an in-game event is taking place now, complete with a Crimson Rift that has split wide open in the sky, along with the destruction of the Rift Gate near The Citadel.
