It wouldn't be Fortnitemares without the appropriate decor or jump scares being present on the map. This year, Epic Games took it one step further by adding Zombie Chicken, two NPC bosses, and Goofy Gravestones.
While Zombie Chicken and NPCs are self-explanatory, Goofy Gravestones need a bit of an introduction. Although gravestones have been on the island for years, these ones are different. Rather than mentioning who or what is buried on the spot, they dish out some humorous one-liners.
Goofy Gravestones were added after the Fortnite update v22.20 and have become an instant hit in the community. While their exact locations are not yet documented, their one-liners have been revealed.

What are Goofy Gravestones in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4?
Unlike normal gravestones that have noteworthy things inscribed on them, which include the person's DOB and "expiration date," Goofy Gravestones have one-liners. Given that Epic Games is well known for its use of humor in-game, this comes as no surprise.
Here are the one-liners players can find on Goofy Gravestones:
- Available for Sublet - contact Grisabelle
- In case of zombie outbreak, this grave will be unoccupied
- Willow's Axe Cache - Don't Touch!
- Didn't thank the Bus Driver
- Meowscles (Life 3 of 9)
- It's just teeth in here!
- Cuddle Team Founder
- This is NOT a secret apocalypse bunker
- This plot is sponsored by No Sweat Insurance
- Take a Femur, Leave a Femur
While a few of them will make sense to all readers, certain one-liners are more specific to lore, storyline characters, and events that have occurred on the island.
For example, "Available for Sublet - contact Grisabelle" Goofy Gravestone is a reference to the character Grisabelle. She was added to the game in Chapter 2 Season 8 and is currently a hostile AI in-game.
Another Fortnite-specific reference is "Didn't thank the Bus Driver."
The two most storyline-connected one-liners are "This is NOT a secret apocalypse bunker" and "This plot is sponsored by No Sweat Insurance."
The first one is a reference to secret bunkers that have been found on the island throughout the seasons. Since they pop up in the oddest of places, it's easy to think an open grave would be the entrance of a bunker.
The second one is a reference to No Sweat Insurance. Since the organization has been helping the islanders since it was founded during the OG days, the "sponsored by" part is a real kick to the funny bone.
Jokes aside, by the looks of it, Goofy Gravestones will be playing a huge role in the coming days ahead.
How to interact with Goofy Gravestones in Fortnite
To interact with a Goofy Gravestone, simply walk up to it and press the interact button when prompted. There's no limit as to how many times it can be interacted with during a match.
For those wondering if interacting with them will provide any XP bonus or special items, there's nothing of the sort. Other than one-liners, they have nothing else on offer.
