Fortnite is about to undergo some major changes. With Creative 2.0 and Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) arriving soon, the game is about to get a lot more in-depth.
In just one day, this will all be available to gamers. On March 22, 2023, Epic Games' hit battle royale game will forever be changed.
Shedding light on UEFN, here's what Epic Games said about the latest update:
Master the game with our Fortnite Interactive Map v33.00 here!
"Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) is a new PC application for designing, developing, and publishing games and experiences directly into [the game]. With many of Unreal Engine 5’s powerful tools and workflows at your fingertips, including custom asset import, modeling, materials and VFX, Sequencer and Control Rig, you’ll have a whole new world of options for producing and publishing games and experiences for [the game] that can be enjoyed by millions of players."
With this new update comes a novel set of possibilities, including the potential return of the old map. Here's what you need to know about it.
UEFN: Fortnite update will allow the old map to return
Every single time there's an update to the game, the community asks the same question: Will the old map be coming back this time?
The old map generally refers to the Chapter 1 map. POIs like Dusty Depot, Tilted Towers (the original), Salty Springs, Snobby Shores, Haunted Hills, Lonely Lodge, and more were on it.
This is the best time in the game's history for many players. Anyone who has played Chapter 1 wishes they could visit one of those locations and pick up a SCAR or the original pump shotgun again.
Those days in the main game are gone. Be that as it may, with UEFN, someone will be able to make the old map. People have tried and had moderate success with the current Creative, but this will be so in-depth that they can recreate every single map from every season if they want to.
Players are excited about the opportunity, but it won't be immediately available. The Creative map will take time to make and there are a lot of details that the creators will want to include.
However, on March 22, the possibility of the OG Fortnite map's return will finally be real. When it does come out, it will be a Creative map and it will be insanely popular. It will likely be accessed the same way any Creative map is, though that's probably about to change with Creative 2.0.
It may also be difficult to get an entire lobby of 100 Fortnite players into one Creative world, but players won't mind just exploring the old map that they've missed so much. Additionally, many Fortnite leaks surrounding the OG map have already started to surface which all but confirms the hype ahead of its actual release.
Note: This hinges on whether or not someone does embark on the tall task of recreating the old map. This is very likely, but not exactly guaranteed.
