Fortnite players have to recover a Combat Cache for one of the latest weekly challenges. It can be completed quite quickly as long as the cache is not contested by other players.
Combat Caches were added to Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2, and their mechanism is somewhat similar to Capture Points. Players who capture the caches receive good loot and meds. However, unlike Capture Points, Combat Caches spawn in random spots and show up on the mini-map in the middle of the game.
We've prepared a detailed step-by-step guide on how to complete the latest Fortnite challenge of recovering a Combat Cache.

Recover a Combat Cache easily if other players are not contesting it
Combat Caches provide valuable loot, but they spawn relatively late. Since there aren't many players alive at that point, it is not very difficult to recover them. That said, you can always be contested by opponents who happen to be around you looking to upgrade their loot. The challenge grants 12,000 XP, and you can also earn bonus XP by completing multiple quests.
Here are the steps you need to take to complete the latest Fortnite challenge.
1) Locate the Combat Cache
You have to pay attention to the map and your surroundings to complete this Fortnite challenge. To recover a Combat Cache, you first have to locate it on the map. Fortunately, it will be marked on the map when it spawns inside the safe zone, and it will also emit a colored cylindrical beam.
Once you spot the cache, you can make your way to it, but be careful because your opponents may also be vying for it.
2) Recover the Combat Cache
To complete this Fortnite challenge, you need to interact with the Combat Cache by holding down the action button. Once it is unlocked, you will receive a notification that you've completed the weekly challenge. You can verify it in the quest log.
In rare cases, you will have to stay around the cache and capture it. This is a lengthier interaction of around 50 seconds, so you have to remain cautious. The cache requires you to stay in a certain range, so you can hide or build around yourself. If you don't complete the challenge right after interacting with the cache, then this should do the trick.
