Fortnite gives the term "dumpster fire" a whole new meaning. With part two of Paradise Quest live, players will have to go dumpster diving to recover the last of The Scientist's research notes.
It's unclear how the notes ended up in the trash, but they are important and may hold the key to "Project Loop Breaker." With that said, here's where to find and search for an open dumpster in Fortnite.
A step-by-step guide on how and where to search for an open dumpster in Fortnite
1) Choosing a landing area and finding an open dumpster
Master the game with our Fortnite Interactive Map v33.00 here!
Since players will only have to look for one open dumpster, the quest shouldn't be too difficult to complete.
There are plenty of options to choose from. Players can either hot-drop at Tainted Towers or take a leisurely stroll through Greasy Grove to find one. It all depends on where players intend to land.
Since there's no fixed location to find an open dumpster and search for The Scientist's notes, anywhere will suffice. However, for players looking to complete the quest quickly to earn XP, Tainted Towers is the best option as there are three open dumpsters within the POI.
2) Interacting with the open dumpster
Once an open dumpster has been found, the next step is to interact with it. Players need to press the interaction button on their respective devices to initiate the action. Once pressed, the character will quite literally dumpster-dive into the open dumpster.
The Scientist's notes will then pop out of the garbage pile and appear on the floor. Players will have to exit the open dumpster and pick up the research notes to complete this stage of the Paradise Quest line and earn 32,000 XP.
Things to keep in mind while interacting with an open dumpster in Fortnite
Aside from the Paradise Quest, open dumpsters function as hiding spots for players in-game. When being chased by opponents, these miniature garbage dumps can be used to hide. Players can interact and jump into them to hide or break the line of sight with the enemy.
What's great about this mechanic is that unless players press the interaction button again, they will not be ejected from the open dumpster. This is a good feature, as many users tend to hit the fire or movement key unintentionally.
Since there's no cooldown time involved, players can use open dumpsters to hide as and when needed.
However, if an opponent suspects that a player is hiding inside an open dumpster, they can shoot and destroy it to force them out. On the flipside, players can use an open dumpster to ambush unsuspecting opponents.
With a bit of careful timing and situational awareness, players can lure opponents to an open dumpster and get the jump on them during combat. If the opening volley of bullets makes contact with the opponent's head, the fight will go in favor of the player.
