Will there be a live event for Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2? Well, there's a bit of confusion about this aspect. Since transitioning from the current to the upcoming theme is a major shift, many speculate that Epic Games 'has' to conduct a live event to showcase the 'how' and 'why.'
However, based on the leaked information, nothing in the files suggests that a live event will occur. The absence of related files in the game update v23.50 indicates that there will be no live event soon.
On that note, while a live event is probably ruled out of the question, Epic Games will use the Rift Gate. Given the recent events in the storyline, there's a lot at stake.

So if there's no live event for Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2, what else can players look forward to?
Much like regular seasonal shifts, Epic Games will provide cinematic videos to showcase how (if at all) the Rift Gate will impact the upcoming season. It's widely speculated that the Shapeless Man (Geno) will be coming through the Rift Gate.
Since the device was sabotaged and the coordinates changed, he's the key suspect. Furthermore, considering that he's the one who appears in Rift Warden Stellan's dreams and haunts them, he's been instrumental in creating the Rift Gate itself.
Considering all these facts, it's very likely that he has prepared for his return to the island. This is, in all probability, a declaration of war. That said, Geno is unlikely to come through the Rift Gate first. His Imagined Order will likely be the first line of attack in this new invasion.
Although the cinematic videos may showcase Geno, he will not be on the island until later in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2, or after. By the looks of it, the Rift Gate and Rift Warden Stellan both have a role to play in the future. What that is will be revealed in a few days.
Can you interact with the Rift Gate in Fortnite?
While a few content creators have created concepts and amazing cinematic videos showcasing how the Rift Gate could work in-game, it's just an idol asset. There's no way to interact with it.
Even after jumping through the Rift Gate, absolutely nothing happens. Besides the mild sound effects, there's nothing else. It stays the same, and the character in-game is unaffected by it. Maybe once Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 kicks off, the Rift Gate may also serve some purpose in-game.
The Rift Gate may remain on the island to keep the rift open, from which Geno and the Imagined Order will come through or perhaps get destroyed once they reach the island. It's anyone's guess. Nevertheless, it won't be long before it's fully powered up and opens up an ominous rift in the sky above it.
