Mumbai 5s were crowned as the first champions of the Premier Futsal League after they beat Kochi 5s 3-2 on penalties. Ryan Giggs’s side have been impressive throughout the tournament and made a remarkable comeback in dying minutes of the normal time to take the game to penalties.
This tournament saw few Indian futsallers given the opportunity to showcase their talent on a bigger platform. Mumbai 5s’ Chanpreet Singh played a crucial role for his team, and Sportskeeda had the opportunity to speak to him shortly after his team’s win in the finals of the Premier Futsal League.
He said:”I’m feeling very good. It was the first edition of the Premier Futsal, and it’s been won by the Mumbai 5’s. I was a part of the Mumbai 5’s team, so I think we created history. People will remember that I played for Mumbai 5’s, and they won the first edition. It was a pretty good experience.
“I played with a legend like Ryan Giggs. He is a very humble man. I also got to play with the best Futsal players, and I’m still learning things.”
Asked about his team’s impressive comeback in the last minute of the game to take it to the penalties, to which he replied:” Yes, Ryan Giggs told me not to give up till the end. We played till the last, and it was a perfect final match.”

Chanpreet also explained how Giggs has been encouraging him throughout the tournament, and that has helped him to keep himself motivated.
“Giggs told me that I’m a very good defender and that he trusts me. He is always motivating me, and always supporting me if I make any good moves. So, he has been very good with me.”
Finally, Chanpreet believes the key to his success is hard work, and staying focussed. He added: “It’s only hard work. God is there with me, so I have faith in God and nothing else.”
