3) Defender: Chaguinha (Kochi)
Bruno Rocha Braga Cavalcante, better known as Chaguinha was the best player of the tournament and deservingly won the award. The Brazillian came into the tournament after a brief stint with Portuguese club Benfica’s 5-a-side football team.
Throughout the group stages, Chaguinha would stay back and feed Deives Moraes. His passing was impeccable and was at the centre of many of Kochi’s goals. When Kochi needed a goal, Chaguinha would join the attack scoring many vital goals, most notably the winning goal against Chennai 5s in the added time of the last game of the group stages.
In the semi-finals, he scored two to send Kochi through to the finals and was the architect of Moraes’ goal in the finals. Hence, he makes it to our team of the tournament.
