The Nvidia RTX 4060 is the most affordable graphics card from Nvidia in the RTX 4000 series, and it was designed to deliver a competent 1080p gaming experience. The card was heavily criticized at launch since it had lower shader cores, memory capacity, and memory speed than its predecessor. However, the specs aren't everything, and the card still performs decently well. In fact, there are plenty of AAA games that can run perfectly well on this GPU.

1) Alan Wake 2

The Alan Wake 2 was one of the most hotly anticipated games to launch since the trailer was first released. It's a sequel to a game that was released all the way back in 2010. It took almost 13 years to launch. Fans almost gave up their hope on the sequel coming out until they saw a glimpse of Alan Wake in the AWE DLC of Control.

Both Control and Alan Wake 2 were developed by Remedy Entertainment company, and they share a connected universe that fans like to call Remedyverse. They have rich intertwined stories that will absolutely take your breath away.

Alan Wake 2 continues that storyline and has hyper-realistic graphics that will immerse you into the game. Because of that, it is quite heavy on any system and runs at around 60 FPS on the RTX 4060 at 1080p with high graphics settings and DLSS set to quality. If you want a bit more performance, you can turn on Frame Generation, which should boost the FPS even more.

2) Spider-Man: Miles Morales

The Spider-Man: Miles Morales was released in 2022 on PC and became quite popular among its fans. Miles was finally brought to a much wider audience, and fans got to experience the character in all its glory.

Miles is not just a playable character but rather the protagonist. The game is also extremely polished, so it can comfortably run on the RTX 4060. At 1080p high graphical settings (not Very High) with ray tracing turned on, the game runs at around 60 FPS.

When you are near crowded locations, the FPS may drop below 60 in those areas, which can be rectified by turning off a few ray-traced effects.

3) Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth

Released in early 2024, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is a sequel to the Yakuza: Like a Dragon and continues the story of Ichiban Kasuga. There's another playable character called Kazuma Kiryu, whom we haven't seen since Yakuza: The Song of Life.

Both of them are brought face-to-face with each other in this game, whether that's due to destiny or just pure coincidence is something for you to find. However, you don't need to play all the other Yakuza games to get the complete story. Just begin with Yakuza: Like a Dragon and continue to Infinite Wealth's storyline.

Nonetheless, it's a great title that runs well on the RTX 4060. At 1080p with high settings, it delivers around 88 FPS, which is more than enough.

4) Starfield

Bethesda Game Studios released Starfield in 2023. If you don't remember, this is the same company that developed the all-time fan-favorite The Elder Scrolls 6: Skyrim, so there was a huge hype behind Starfield's release.

It is an RPG title like Skyrim, but it's set in space. Players get to explore the vast open space, visit other planets, or jump straight into quests. A new DLC called Stattered Space is also in the works.

The game is a bit hard on the system resources and requires higher processing power. Even at 1080p resolution with medium graphics settings and DLSS, you will get around 60 FPS on the RTX 4060. However, in main cities like New Atlantis, Akila City, or others, the FPS will hover in the 50s.

5) Resident Evil 4 Remake

As the name suggests, the new Resident Evil 4 is a remake of the classic Resident Evil 4, released in 2005. The remake is built upon the goodness of the original title and brings new mechanics, higher graphical fidelity, better character models, and more.

Even if you have played the classic, you will still love the remake. That's because it feels like a new game, almost. Even the initial area of Resident Evil 4 is revamped to a whole new degree with intrinsic details and more places to explore.

It's a very well-optimized title that runs quite well. The game delivers around 70 - 80 FPS at 1080p with max settings on the RTX 4060.

6) The Last of Us: Part 1

The Last of Us: Part 1 is a graphical remake of the original with updated assets, textures, and character models. Apart from the graphics, the other changes are minimal. However, it's still an incredible game that looks even more impressive now.

So, if you haven't played The Last of Us yet, you must. It's a beautiful story-driven game that every player must play once. The title also runs decently on most systems. The RTX 4060 can provide 60+ FPS most of the time at 1080p with high graphics settings.

7) Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy needs no introduction since the name speaks for itself. If you grew up watching Harry Potter movies and are a big fan of the mystical world of Hogwarts, then you cannot miss this game.

The protagonist is not Harry Potter like in the movies. That's because the story is set in 1890, which is around 100 years before Harry Potter joined the Hogwarts Academy. It's still a fantastic title, and the story is quite engaging.

You will get over 60 FPS at 1080p with ultra graphical settings on the RTX 4060. If you see any stutters in the Hogwarts Legacy, then it's not the fault of the GPU but rather the game itself. It's not a well-optimized title.

8) Cyberpunk 2077

Many people will consider Cyberpunk 2077 as one of the greatest RPG games ever made, which is not surprising since CDProjektRed is well-versed in the RPG genre. The Polish developer's previous title, Witcher 3 The Wild Hunt, sold over 50 million copies since it was first released in 2015.

Cyberpunk 2077 is set in a futuristic dystopian city called Night City and follows the story of a freelancer mercenary called V. The game is still quite popular, and a new DLC called Phantom Liberty has also been released. It runs at around 60 FPS at 1080 Ultra on the RTX 4060 if you turn on DLSS.

9) Death Stranding

Death Stranding is one of the most impressive titles from the brilliant mind of Hideo Kojima. He has a knack for games like this, and this one is a masterpiece. Death Stranding is set in an apocalyptic world where invisible creatures roam around.

The protagonist, Sam Porter, portrayed by Norman Reedus, is a courier whose mission is to deliver supplies in and around the colonies of this world. The game runs so well on the RTX 4060 that you can get 60 FPS at 4K high graphical settings with DLSS quality turned on.

10) Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemptions 2 is considered the best title Rockstar has ever made. It's a prequel to the original game and tells the story of Arthur Morgan and his gang.

If you like story-driven titles, Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the best out there. You can play the main story or jump into the multiplayer action. It runs well on modern GPUs like the RTX 4060.

At 1080p high/ultra settings, this graphics card can deliver 70+ FPS. If you are willing to turn on DLSS, you can even play the game at 1440p.

These are some of the best games you can play comfortably on your RTX 4060. Personally, I would recommend that you start with Resident Evil 4 Remake or Red Dead Redemption 2. Both games have a heavy focus on the story and action, which makes them a great starting point. I've played them both and they are an easy recommendation.
