A Quiet Place The Road Ahead was a surprise announcement for many since no one was expecting a video game adaptation of the A Quiet Place IP so soon. However, the brief gameplay snippet developer Stormind Games and publisher Saber Interactive showcased got fans really excited, partially due to the promise the game showed as a survival-horror experience.

The game has mostly been under a shroud of mystery ever since it was first revealed. However, with the most recent trailer for the game, Saber Interactive has finally announced the official release date for A Quiet Place The Road Ahead. In addition to the game's release date announcement, pre-orders for the title also went live across all platforms.

Given that it's coming to PC as well, Saber Interactive has also listed the official PC requirements. Here's a look at the PC system requirements for A Quiet Place The Road Ahead, as well as its potential file size.

A Quiet Place The Road Ahead minimum and recommended PC system requirements

While A Quiet Place The Road Ahead looks a lot like an Unreal Engine 5 game, with the lighting and ambient occlusion tech in particular looking incredibly stellar, akin to the results produced by Lumen. However, surprisingly enough, the game is built using Unreal Engine 4, albeit with some major improvements made to its lighting model.

And much like some of the most recent Unreal Engine 4 games that pushed the envelope of real-time rendering, such as Star Wars Jedi Survivor, Returnal, Atomic Heart, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, etc., A Quiet Place The Road Ahead comes with some really hefty system requirements.

Here's a look at the minimum and recommended system requirements for A Quiet Place The Road Ahead:

Minimum

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: OS Window 10 64-bit
  • Processor: CPU Ryzen 5 3600X, Core i5 11600K
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics: GPU GTX 1080, RTX 2060 SUPER, RX 5700 XT
  • Storage: 50 GB available space

Recommended

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: OS Window 10 64-bit
  • Processor: CPU Ryzen 7 5800X, i5-12600K
  • Memory: 32 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Graphics RTX 3080, RTX 3070 (DLSS Balanced), RX 6800 XT
  • Storage: 50 GB available space

As for the storage requirement, the game seems to be around the ballpark of 50 gigabytes, which isn't surprising considering it's a linear single-player horror game, akin to Resident Evil.

What is a bit worrying though is the hefty CPU requirement, which seems to indicate that the game is CPU-bound, for the most part. This isn't anything out of the ordinary for Unreal Engine 4, especially its DX12 variant, which is usually quite taxing on the CPU.

However, the game also seems to require quite a lot of VRAM, especially if you're targeting the recommended specs. While both RTX 3080 and RX 6800 XT are a couple of years old at this point, they're still considered higher-end GPUs, something you won't expect to be listed as "recommended." This even holds true for the RTX 3070.

Considering the hefty PC requirements, it would be really interesting to see how A Quiet Place The Road Ahead shapes up on consoles, which operate on much lower-end hardware than what is recommended.
