Since the Black Friday sale began, we have seen some amazing deals from major retailers. While there are some fantastic discounts on laptops, those on the Acer Nitro V 15 and MSI Thin A15 AI B8V are among the best. Both notebooks are excellent and have the same Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU for gaming. However, which one is a better deal? Based on our comparison, the Acer Nitro V appears to offer better value for money, although the Thin A15 AI B8V is a worthy competitor.
In this article, we compare the two models, from their display to performance, to give you a clear answer on which model you should choose.

Acer Nitro V vs MSI Thin A15
The Acer Nitro V and MSI Thin A15 AI B8V are two fantastic laptops available for under $1000 during the Black Friday sale. They have similar specs albeit not the same, so the user experience may vary. Not to mention, there's a $40 price difference between the two models. Here's a comparison.
Design and display
Both laptops have a similar plastic build and lack a unique element. However, the MSI notebook has a blue/cyan-colored backlit keyboard, which looks appealing as opposed to the white offered on the Acer model.
The display size, resolution, and refresh rate of both models are identical. That said, there's no clear winner in terms of design and display due to their subjective nature.
Performance and gaming
As for performance, the Intel Core i9-13900H CPU in the Acer Nitro V is better than the AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS offered on the MSI laptop. It has a significantly higher core count and clock speed, resulting in better performance with both productivity and gaming.
Achieving 144fps or higher won't be a problem for most major competitive titles on either laptop, but CPU-bound games will run better on the Acer model, thanks to its better processor.
While both notebooks come with an Nvidia RTX 4060 graphics card, they are not the same, at least not completely. That's because the GPU in the Acer model has access to 75W of power as opposed to just 45W in the MSI model.
The higher-powered RTX 4060 in the Acer laptop delivers higher clock speeds, leading to better performance when playing games. Thus, the Acer Nitro V is the better Black Friday deal for gaming and productivity.
Battery, ports, and pricing
The battery capacity of the Acer Nitro V is slightly larger than the MSI Thin A15 but also has a more power-hungry CPU. As a result, both laptops should have a similar battery life with marginal variations.
In terms of port selection, both notebooks have a similar configuration with one major difference. The Acer laptop has a Thunderbolt 4 connectivity, which is missing in the MSI model.
Price-wise, the Acer Nitro V costs $899, while the MSI Thin A15 is priced at $939 during this Black Friday sale. This makes the Acer model $40 cheaper than its MSI counterpart.
Acer Nitro V vs MSI Thin A15: Which RTX 4060 laptop deal is better during the Black Friday sale?
The Acer Nitro V appears to be the better choice for both gaming and productivity, and it is also cheaper. However, the MSI Thin A15 laptop has a $200 rebate, which you can only get if you purchase a similar MSI laptop during the same Black Friday sale. Since purchasing a second laptop within such a short span is unlikely, the Acer Nitro V is the better deal.
