While both cards are fabricated on the same process node — 5nm, there are architectural differences between them.

The RTX 4070 leverages the Ada Lovelace architecture. On the contrary, the 7900 GRE is built on the latest RDNA 3.0 architecture.

The Team Green card has more shading units and faster clocks. That said, the red corner wins the favor by more VRAM, cache memory, and RT cores. Moreover, its GRE graphics also have a higher memory bandwidth at 576GB/sec compared to the RTX 4070’s 504.2 GB/sec. However, this slight increase in bandwidth is accompanied by higher power consumption.

The pricing of both cards is the same at this point in time.

Other features

Nvidia unquestionably leads when it comes to features. With RTX 4070, you get DLSS 3.0 and better RT performance.

AMD is also doing its part by bundling its GPUs with FSR, AFMF, and ray-tracing prowess, but it falls short against Nvidia’s competing technologies.
