Fresh rumors of the AMD Ryzen 9000X3D series' specs and features have emerged. The CPUs will reportedly have a lot in common with the existing Ryzen 7000X3D lineup, other than the underlying Zen 5 silicon that has been updated to deliver 16% extra performance across workloads.
In this article, we'll go over everything known about the upcoming 3D V-cache-powered chips. While a lot has been revealed by industry insiders and tipsters, we still don't know a huge chunk about the exact SKUs that will be introduced with the next generation.
What are the expected specs of AMD Ryzen 9000X3D chips?
According to a report from Wccftech, there will be three SKUs in the upcoming Ryzen 9000X3D lineup. These will likely be the Ryzen 9 9950X3D, the Ryzen 9 9900X3D, and the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. This is similar to the existing 7000X3D lineup, which also features three CPUs.
The chips are also rumored to have the same amount of cache. The higher-end Ryzen 9 SKUs are expected to have two CCDs with 32 MB of cache each. The Ryzen 7 9800X3D will likely have a single CCD. Along with this, you also get 64 MB of 3D V-cache with each chip.
For now, the specs sheets are shaping up as follows:
What are the expected features of the AMD Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs?
The 9000X3D series won't be much different from the last generation. However, unlike the chips that came before, the upcoming lineup is expected to have full overclocking support. You will also get the updated Zen 5 silicon, which should allow the chips to be even better in the latest video games.
For the most part, however, the new chips seem like an iterative update that relies solely on IPC improvements and better optimization to deliver extra performance.

When will AMD Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs launch?
We are seemingly quite close to the launch of the 9000X3D lineup. According to the Wccftech report, the chips are expected to be introduced in September or October. This lines up with the launch window of Intel's Arrow Lake series.
What are the expected prices of AMD Ryzen 9000X3D chips?
For now, we don't have any rumors or leaks on the pricing of the upcoming 9000X3D CPUs. However, given they are quite similar to the existing Zen 4 offerings, we expect them to cost as much.
- AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D: $699
- AMD Ryzen 9 9900X3D: $599
- AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D: $449
All of these chips will target the mid-premium to high-end segment with best-in-class gaming performance. Sadly, mid-range and budget gamers probably won't get the X3D treatment this generation.
