There are a plethora of options available if you're looking to build a 4K gaming PC. Building a gaming PC can be tricky, especially if you aren't familiar with the technical jargon that goes with the names of components.
Moreover, we are in a time where there are hundreds of products to choose from for every component you are looking for. So, it's normal to be confused about this. Given that builders have a set budget in mind, the choices become crucial, and that nuance makes it more confusing for anyone starting. Thus, to help with your research, we have put together five different budgets to build your 4K gaming PC.
Explore these 4K gaming PC builds
1) Budget build under $1300
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B650M DS3H Micro ATX
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X
- GPU: GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 4070 WINDFORCE OC 12GB
- RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws S5 32GB DDR5 6000MT/s
- Storage: Team Group MP33 PRO M.2-2280 1TB PCIe SSD
- Cooler: DeepCool AG400 BK ARGB Single-Tower CPU 120mm
- PSU: NZXT C850 PSU 850 Watt
- Case: Lian Li 215 X ATX Mid-tower (3 fans pre-installed)
- Total: $1265
The AMD Ryzen 5 7600X is an excellent mid-range processor that you can find for affordable rates online. Moreover, when paired with a powerful graphics processor like the RTX 4070, you can expect super high framerates and high graphics quality on most modern titles.
Moreover, the other peripherals that we've chosen for the build are very compatible and more than enough to support powerful components like the RTX 4070. 32 gigs of RAM and 1TB storage are good enough for a budget 4K gaming PC build and as the case is a mid-tower ATX, you'll end up with sufficient room for upgrades in the future.
2) Mid-range build within $2000
- Motherboard: Asus TUF GAMING B650-PLUS WIFI ATX
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
- GPU: GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER GAMING OC 16GB
- RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws S5 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5-6000 CL36
- Storage: Crucial P3 Plus 2TB M.2-2280 PCle SSD
- Cooler: DeepCool LS520 85.85 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
- PSU: Enermax REVOLUTION D.F.2 1050W
- Case: Montech SKY TWO ATX Mid-tower Case
- Total: $1980
$2000 is the sweet spot when building a 4K gaming PC. The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D is an insanely good processor. But when paired with a GPU like the RTX 4070 Ti, you have a long-lasting setup that could potentially run for several years without issues or gameplay compromises.
Moreover, the Montech Sky Two is an affordable PC case that comes with four ARGB fans, and it makes for a solid cooling setup when paired with the DeepCool LS520 AIO cooler. The 1050W PSU is more than enough to support the power-hungry GPU and as the case is quite big. You're left with a good amount of room for upgrading.
3) Gaming-focused build under $2500
- Motherboard: MSI MAG Z790 Tomahawk MAX WiFi ATX
- Processor: Intel Core i7-14700K
- GPU: ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER 16GB
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 5600MHz CL36
- Storage: Corsair MP600 Elite with Heatsink 2TB
- Cooler: Corsair iCUE H150i ELITE CAPELLIX XT 360mm Liquid Cooler
- PSU: MSI MPG A850G ATX 3.0
- Case: Antec C8 ARGB Full-tower E-ATX Case (3 fans included)
- Total: $2488
Stepping into the $2500 budget, you now have more room for upgrading the components. The Intel Core i7-14700K is a super popular processor as it isn't as power-hungry as the i9 chips. Moreover, when you pair it with the RTX 4080 Super, you can expect sky-high framerates along with incredible graphics quality.
The Antec C8 case already comes with three fans and has enough room to fit Corsair's 360mm Liquid Cooler, which is quite big. 32GB RAM along with 2TB storage can set you up for a comfortable 4-5 years of gaming and more. Adding to that, you have an E-ATX case which is huge and has enough room for upgrades along the way.
4) High-end gaming PC build under $3000
- Motherboard: Gigabyte X670 AORUS ELITE AX ATX
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 4.2 GHz
- GPU: Gigabyte GAMING OC GeForce RTX 4090 24GB
- RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws S5 32 GB (2x16GB) DDR5-6000 CL36
- Storage: Crucial P3 Plus 2TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 SSD
- Cooler: DeepCool LS720 SE 85.85 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
- PSU: NZXT C1200 1200W ATX Power Supply
- Case: NZXT H6 Flow RGB ATX Mid-Tower Case
- Total: $3006.09
If you want a clocked-up 4K gaming PC built with the best components, you could get one for around $3000. As we mentioned earlier, the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D is probably one of the best gaming processors. When paired with a beast like the Nvidia RTX 4090, you can play games at some of the best settings without facing any issues in the quality.
The NZXT H6 Flow is an excellent case and has sufficient room to fit the LS720 liquid cooler. The case also comes with three fans pre-installed so you won't have to worry about the heat dissipation in the case. The RTX 4090 consumes quite a lot of power, but you should be sorted since you have a 1200W PSU.
5) No compromises build ($3500)
- Motherboard: GIGABYTE Z790 AORUS Elite AX ATX LGA 1700
- Processor: Intel Core i9-14900K
- GPU: ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4090
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR5 RAM 64GB (2x32GB) 5600MHz CL40
- Storage: SAMSUNG 990 PRO 2TB NVMe M.2-2280 PCIe SSD
- Cooler: Corsair iCUE H150i Elite CAPELLIX XT Liquid Cooler
- PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 1350W ATX 3.0
- Case: Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO E-ATX Case
- Total: $3532.97
Lastly, if you're looking to build an insanely clocked-out 4K gaming PC, you could expect higher prices around the ballpark of $3500. The i9-14700K is a little less powerful than the 14700KS variant, however, we chose it as it consumes less power than the latter. Moreover, the RTX 4090 GPU is quite demanding by itself, so to maintain a balance, we chose the less power-consuming CPU.
The Lian Li O11D Evo is a spacious case and is more than enough to hold the large components mentioned above. 64GB of RAM paired with the 2TB SSD storage can set you up with an excellent 4K gaming PC build that could last you for years to come. And you can always upgrade if the storage ends up being insufficient.
