The Xbox Series X boasts an impressive line-up of video games, and if you recently got the console, you might want to know which games you should try out. While the library is massive, you do miss out on certain titles available on the PS5. However, Xbox's exclusive games and greater backward compatibility still make it a great platform choice.
Now, the library itself is quite expansive, and there's a game for almost every interest you have. However, choosing between these titles can be quite confusing. To help you make your decision, we have compiled a list of what we think are the best games to play on the Xbox Series X.

The best AAA games to play on Xbox Series X
1) Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is easily one of the best games to play if you're a Star Wars fan. This action-adventure game is the sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and truly outperforms it in terms of cinematography, graphics, and gameplay. The character customization is a lot more interesting now, and even the designs seem way better.
While it is not exactly an open-world title, you can still explore planets and interact with NPCs. There are a ton of side activities you can do, even gardening!
All in all, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a solid Star Wars title that you must check out on the Xbox Series X.
2) Forza Horizon 5
Forza Horizon 5 doesn't need an introduction because you've most definitely come across this title, regardless of whether you're a car guy or not. Let me put it this way, what Forza Horizon 5 is to Xbox, Gran Turismo 7 is to PlayStation.
FH5 relies on a more street racing or racing festival-style gameplay, allowing you to race through the streets and explore the vast open roads of Mexico. The game has a very detailed world, with an impressive roster of cars made to match very closely with their real-life counterparts.
3) Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is the franchise's latest entry and an excellent first-person shooter. The campaign brings back the OG Task Force 141 members - Captain John "Soap" MacTavish, Captain John Price, and the Russian mercenary Nikolai. You get a medium-sized campaign with around 15 missions in all, action-packed with some very interesting missions.
COD: MW3 also has the most advanced graphics that we've seen in any Call of Duty game, with textures looking super realistic. The game should be spectacular to play using Xbox controllers due to their haptic feedback.
4) Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is the eighth installment in the Yakuza franchise and features a massively story-driven gameplay. The title is a blend of action RPG and life simulation. It follows the adventures of Ichiban Kasuga and Kazuma Kiryu as they navigate the underworld of Japan and Hawaii.
The combat system in the game is really stylized and engaging. You can work jobs, play mini-games, and do a ton of other side quests, making it great for long plays. The diverse mechanics and high-level details make it a treat to play on the Xbox Series X.

5) Elden Ring
Elden Ring is an open-world action-adventure RPG developed by FromSoftware. It follows a similar game style to other Souls games and features a challenging combat system and a huge map to explore.
Elden Ring's vast world is filled with mythical creatures, ancient ruins, and many hidden secrets. The gameplay is super rewarding even though it tends to have a bit of a learning curve. Playing it on the Xbox Series X can be an exciting experience, thanks to the haptic feedback on the controllers.
6) Alan Wake 2
Alan Wake 2 is a psychological horror game where you play as Alan Wake, a lost writer in a nightmare prison. The title features a grueling atmosphere and suspenseful storytelling. You need to outsmart the devil and find your way out of the prison by solving puzzles and challenges.
Alan Wake 2's eerie music and gripping narrative aid to the overall experience, and its unique storytelling makes it a one of a one-of-a-kind game that you must try out on your Xbox Series X.
7) Assassin's Creed Mirage
While not the latest AC game, Assassin's Creed Mirage is one that stands out from the rest. Many OG franchise fans have been disappointed with the route that Ubisoft has taken. However, through this release, Mirage has brought back what players loved most, almost paying homage to the older titles that made the series what it is now.
Assassin's Creed Mirage is set in Baghdad, and you play as Basim, a street thief-turned-assassin. The game offers a more streamlined stealth-killing experience that is a true nostalgia trip to fans of the older titles. Its pleasing aesthetics and character designs make it a must-try on the Xbox Series X.
8) Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 probably needs no introduction. The title has been breaking the internet since its announcement in 2012 and continues to amaze with its design and mechanics. While it did have a rocky start, the game is now stable on most platforms, including the Xbox Series X, and offers a one-of-a-kind experience that you can't possibly get anywhere else.
Cyberpunk 2077 is set in a dystopian future with humanoid robots and other beings of the sort. The storyline is immersive, and the game features unforgettable characters. The devs really went all out on the title as the attention to detail on the graphics is impeccable.
9) Red Dead Redemption 2
Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the best games you can play on the Xbox Series X. This open-world action-adventure title isn't just any Wild West story; it has a breathtaking and immersive storyline that sticks with you for a long time. The rich narrative and memorable characters make it a fan favorite.
Red Dead Redemption 2's open world is massive, and you can spend hours just exploring the wild lands doing side quests and missions. This is probably the reason why the game still has so many players online even though it's been almost six years since its release. It just has so much going on and provides an experience that's hard to forget.
10) Far Cry 6
Far Cry 6 offers an incredible experience where you get to fight against a tyrannical dictator, played by Giancarlo Esposito. As with most Far Cry games, this installment features explosive combat and diverse environments. Its vast open world is set in the fictional Caribbean island of Yara, where you get to do a ton of side quests and missions.
Overall, Far Cry 6 is a must-try if you are a fan of the franchise as it looks great on the Xbox Series X.
