No Man's Sky just got its biggest update of the year: Worlds Part I. The developers have completely revamped the visuals of the game and added numerous new graphics features to bring it up to 2024 standards. While it was already quite hard to run on some modest gaming PCs, things are getting even more difficult now.

Tuning the settings lists in this sci-fi exploration title is necessary if you're looking to get a balance between graphics fidelity and performance. In this guide, we have compiled the ideal settings options for the best experience while playing No Man's Sky. You can choose between the lists depending on whether you want better visuals or higher framerates,

According to Hello Games, No Man's Sky had a minimum hardware requirement of a GTX 1060 3 GB or a RX 470 4 GB to play. Although there's no recommended hardware listed, previous framerate tests revealed a GTX 1660 6 GB was more than enough to get a stable 60 FPS experience.

However, with the latest update applied, you'll need at least an RTX 3060 to maintain a decent framerate. We recommend the High settings for any PC powered by a 60-class card. If you own an RTX 3070 Ti or above, you crank these settings up to Ultra.

The detailed settings list is as follows:

Graphics options

  • Preset: Custom
  • Texture quality: High
  • Animation quality: High
  • Shadow quality: High
  • Post-processing: High
  • Reflections: High
  • Volumetric effects: High
  • Terrain tessellation: High
  • Planet quality: Ultra
  • Base complexity: High
  • Anisotropic filtering: 8
  • GTAO: High
  • Anti-aliasing: DLSS
  • DLSS quality: Balanced

If you're looking for high framerates in No Man's Sky, you'll have to lower the visual settings. The game might not look prettiest, but it'll run at high framerates even on 60-class cards.

We recommend a mix of Standard and High settings with DLSS set to the Balanced preset for the best experience. The detailed list is as follows:

Graphics options

  • Preset: Custom
  • Texture quality: Standard
  • Animation quality: High
  • Shadow quality: Standard
  • Post-processing: High
  • Reflections: Standard
  • Volumetric effects: High

  • DLSS quality: Balanced

We have designed these settings recommendation lists with the regular 60-class PC in mind. If you're rocking the latest 70 or 80-class GPUs, any game will run at the highest graphics options without major performance hiccups. No Man's Sky is no exception despite getting more demanding with the Worlds Part I update.
