AMD fans waiting for the RDNA 4 GPUs, like the new Radeon 9070 XT, were left disappointed when Team Red didn't announce anything related to the Radeon graphics cards at the CES 2025 event. Meanwhile, Nvidia launched a whole bunch of new RTX 50 series GPUs at the event. Unfortunately, it seems AMD needs a bit more time to launch its new graphics cards.
However, you may not have to wait too long, as a big leak has emerged regarding the new RDNA 4 cards, courtesy of a Chiphell forum member. A lot of new details have come forward, including potential specs and benchmarks.
In this article, we will analyze these new leaks and explain what kind of performance benefit you can expect from next-gen AMD GPUs like the Radeon RX 9070 XT.

Leaked specs of AMD Radeon 9070 XT
The new leak comes from a Chiphell forum member, zhangzhonghao, who has a great track record of delivering accurate leaks related to Nvidia and AMD. This user posted a bunch of new information via images of CPU-Z, 3D Mark Time Spy Extreme, 3D Mark Speed Way, and Furmark, but they were quickly deleted.
Fortunately, X users @0x22h and @Wukongmyth2460 managed to take a few screenshots before the images were taken down.
The CPU-Z screenshot shows a lot of specs but doesn't confirm the GPU. However, judging by the specs, it is most probably the Radeon 9070 XT. According to the screenshot, this GPU was manufactured by ASUS and has 4096 shader cores, 16GB memory, and more.
Here's the list of specs reported by the CPU-Z screenshot and previous leaks:
The clock speeds are high, thanks to the increased 330W total board power (TBP). Previous leaks indicated around 265W of TBP, but the Furmark benchmark leak reported 329W of power usage, so this GPU likely has 330W TBP. Furthermore, the memory clock speed is a bit higher, which indicates the use of 20Gbps Hynix memory modules.
Leaked benchmarks of AMD Radeon 9070 XT
Let's put the specs aside and look at the actual benchmark leaks. The Radeon RX 9070 XT was apparently benchmarked using three applications — 3D Mark Time Spy Extreme, 3D Mark Speed Way, and Furmark.
The 3D Mark Time Spy Extreme benchmark utility is a great way of judging rasterized performance, while the 3D Mark Speed Way is for ray tracing. If we take the benchmark numbers at face value, it seems the Radeon 9070 XT is somewhere between the Radeon 7900 XTX and Nvidia RTX 4080 in rasterization.
In terms of ray tracing performance, the new GPU is somewhere between Radeon 7900 XTX and RTX 4070 Ti. These scores are very impressive, especially considering the lower shader and ray tracing cores of the AMD Radeon 9070 XT. Also, keep in mind that both tests were conducted at 4K, and the graphics card was not running on the final driver, meaning the performance can improve further.
Nonetheless, remember that none of these tests are official, and a lot can change by the time this GPU is released. So, take this leaked information with a grain of salt.
