Cities Skylines 2 was launched recently, and if you’re wondering about its PC system requirements, this article has you covered. Though the game is seeing some issues running on PCs at the moment, they may not be related to this title's minimum requirements.
Right now, no matter what GPU you’re running your PC on, you might wind up having problems building the city of your dreams in Paradox Interactive’s latest offering. Fortunately, the developers are working on fixing those issues.
For the time being, though, if you don’t have a top-of-the-line PC, it’s likely that you’re going to struggle to run Cities Skylines 2. Despite that, the section below will give you the requirements for Paradox Interactive’s latest release.
What are Cities Skylines 2’s PC system requirements?
While Cities Skylines 2 is a visually appealing game, in which it’s always fun to build a beautiful city, this title's PC system requirements are certainly interesting. Given the issues computer players have had with this offering lately, its minimum requirements do not seem probable.
The previous entry was well-optimized and featured a wide assortment of interesting mods. The problem with this new title, however, is that it's poorly optimized. So, unless you have a powerful system, it’s likely to either look blurry and unpleasant or suffer a wide assortment of stuttering and lag issues.
That said, here are the official PC minimum and recommended system requirements for this title on Steam:
Minimum system requirements
- OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit (requires a 64-bit processor and Operating System)
- Processor: Intel Core i7-6700K or AMD Ryzen 5 2600X
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 (4 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 480 (8 GB)
- Storage: 60 GB available space
Recommended requirements
- OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit, or Windows 11 (requires a 64-bit processor and Operating System)
- Processor: Intel Core i5-12600K or AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 (10 GB or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT (16 GB)
- Storage: 60 GB available space
If you have a PC closer to or better than the recommended PC specs for Cities Skylines 2, you will not face the issues that the average player will. The game is simply not optimized for all GPUs, and the requirements needed for anything above Medium in this game appear to be on the unreasonable side of things.
This title was launched on October 24, 2023, for PCs as the sequel to Cities Skylines. Its developers have several updates planned to correct the issues the game faced at launch, with at least one patch being significant..
