Potential cause for Fallout London crashing issue
PC users are speculating that a memory leak could be the potential cause behind the Fallout London crashing issue.
Team Folon hasn't identified the exact reason behind the error yet. However, according to its Discord page, the developer is looking into it. Until the team comes out with an official fix, you can try the solutions provided below.
Possible fixes for Fallout London crashing error
1) Close the Fallout game properly before relaunching
The Fallout 4 exe could still be running in the background after the crash. This might prevent the game from launching again since an instance of it is already running. To fix this issue, you will need to close it properly before launching it again.
Follow these steps to do so:
- Launch the task manager by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Esc simultaneously.
- Scroll down the list and check if you find any Fallout exe.
- If you find one, right-click on it and select End Task.
2) Run Fallout London through F4SE_loader as administrator (Requires Buffout mod)
The Buffout mod provides a dedicated launcher for Fallout London and is also known to fix various issues in the game, including crashing.
Here's what you need to do to use it and fix the error:
- Install the Buffout mod if it's not installed already.
- Go to the Fallout 4 game folder and look for the F4SE_loader.exe file there.
- If the exe is there, right-click on it and select "Send to".
- Next, choose Desktop (create shortcut) from the new context menu.
- A shortcut will be found on the desktop screen.
- Next, right-click on the desktop shortcut and select Properties.
- After that, click on the Compatibility tab and tick the checkbox that says. "Run this program as an administrator".
- The game should launch without any crashing issues now.
3) Remove existing mods
You may have other mods installed that conflict with Fallout London and trigger a crash, so it is advisable to remove all other mods from the game before trying out Fallout London.
4) Restart the graphics driver after a crash
When the Fallout London game crashes, the graphics driver could crash alongside it. Here's how to restart the graphics driver without restarting your PC:
- Press Ctrl+Win+Shift+B simultaneously on your keyboard.
- You will see a flicker on your screen, and the driver should successfully reboot.
- You can now try relaunching the game.
5) Disable ReBAR
The main game originally launched before ReBAR came out. The title may be crashing due to the feature's implementation. To fix this, disable ReBAR from the BIOS screen. Where the exact setting is located will depend on your motherboard's manufacturer.
6) Try installing an older graphics driver
Since this is originally an older game, it is possible that an older driver version could fix the Fallout London mod.
Downloading an older driver may fix the crashing issue. This solution is known to work for some AMD GPUs and may even work for Nvidia cards.
We recommend trying these solutions in order. The first two solutions should fix the Fallout London for most people, but if it doesn't, try the rest.
