Final Fantasy 16's PC system requirements have been revealed, alongside the game's release date on the platform. After roughly a year of PlayStation 5 exclusivity, the latest mainline Final Fantasy title is coming to PC on September 17, 2024, with some hefty system requirements. Even on the PS5, Final Fantasy 16 was considered one of the most graphically demanding games.
Unsurprisingly, the PC version does not seem to hold any bars when it comes to pushing the limits of visual fidelity. While the minimum requirements aren't particularly high, it's the recommended specifications that raise a few eyebrows. According to Square Enix, you will need an RTX 2080 equivalent to play the game at 1080p 60fps.
Here's a rundown of the official minimum and recommended system requirements for Final Fantasy 16 on PC.
Final Fantasy 16 PC system requirements
The minimum GPU requirement for Final Fantasy 16 is a GTX 1070 equivalent which is understandable considering it's targeting 720p. However, it's targeting that low of a resolution at only 30fps, which raises some red flags. Additionally, the game also seems to be heavily reliant on the CPU, despite not being an open-world game like Final Fantasy 15.
For the CPU, Square Enix recommends a Ryzen 7 5700X equivalent, which is a pretty high-end chip even for 2024. Lastly, it seems the game isn't going easy on the storage department either, requiring 170 gigabytes of SSD space. This is a bit surprising, considering the PS5 version of the same game along with all the DLCs roughly translates to 110 gigabytes.
That said, here are the minimum and recommended PC system requirements for Final Fantasy 16:
