Specs
Here's the full specs list of the Radeon RX 7800XT:
In terms of specs, the GPU has enough to deliver decent performance. It has a good number of cores and has 16 GB memory, which should be more than enough for 1440p gaming.
Performance

Note: Only 1440p gaming performance data at High/Ultra settings is mentioned for this GPU.
This graphics card manages to deliver 60+ FPS in many games at 1440p with High/Ultra settings. It was only in Starfield where the FPS slightly dipped below 60. In this game, you can enable FSR upscaling to "Quality," and it will keep the FPS above 60.

Verdict
Even though it is available at a discount, the AMD RX 7800 XT's cost still feels off. It should have been lower, but due to inflation and no real pushback from Nvidia, it is currently available for $469.
Nevertheless, under $500, the RX 7800 XT is worth buying in 2024.
An alternative option to the AMD Radeon RX 7800XT
If you are not satisfied with the performance of the Radeon RX 7800 XT, there's one graphics card that offers a solid improvement. That's the AMD RX 7900 GRE, which offers more performance for just $60 more.
