GoldenPigUpgradePack leaks more details on the new RTX 5090 laptop GPU
Previous leaks about the RTX 5090 laptop GPU mentioned 16 GB GDDR7 memory. This graphics chip is supposed to have a 256-bit memory bus, which can only accept a total of eight memory modules. Eight 2 GB GDDR7 memory modules equate to 16 GB, and anything more than that was not possible.
However, a new leak claims the RTX 5090 laptop chip could have 24 GB of GDDR7 memory. This leak was shared on Weibo by user GoldenPigUpgradePack, who has a track record of getting a lot of Intel and AMD CPU or GPU leaks correctly.

According to them, instead of 2 GB memory modules, the RTX 5090 laptop GPU could be fitted with a 3 GB memory module, which would lead to the 24 GB memory that the new leak mentioned.
The RTX 5090 and 5080 configurations in the upcoming ASUS ROG gaming laptops have been leaked, courtesy of X user @94G8LA. Although these laptop variants only mention 16 GB, the top variants of the RTX 5090 may include 24 GB of memory. However, it should be in a lower quantity since 3 GB memory modules are likely more expensive.
Nonetheless, it will all be clear when the RTX 50 series launches, which is expected to happen at the CES 2025 event.
