Xbox Cloud Gaming will soon become available on Amazon Fire TV. Once that happens, those with the Fire Stick can purchase the Game Pass Ultimate plan and stream their favorite titles without any downloads. This move removes the requirement of owning a console or a PC. However, one has to be in a country where Xbox Cloud Gaming is available to stream games through Fire TV.

While it was possible to enjoy the former on Android, the small screens on such devices don't do justice to the incredible visuals of the latest titles. Fortunately, with the Xbox's service arriving on Fire TV, you can hook up a Fire Stick to a 4K TV and enjoy a superb UHD gaming experience similar to what's offered by the Series X. As such, this is a game changer.

Xbox Cloud Gaming's surprise arrival on Amazon Fire TV is a big move towards no-console gaming

The biggest pro of a Fire TV Stick is its price tag. A new 4K edition of it currently goes for just $39.99 on Amazon, which is a fraction of what the Xbox Series X or the Series S costs.

The Xbox Game Pass is struggling to grow its user base, which we speculate might be the reason Microsoft is making cuts in the costs section. The subscription service offers the latest games from Xbox on day one, which makes it quite lucrative and also quite expensive on Microsoft's half.

With it arriving on Fire TV, the service will be open to more customers. This is great for Microsoft's cloud gaming service, which, for a while, seemed to be going nowhere. Since Xbox Cloud Gaming is now expanding, it might not be long before it grows in terms of features and supported regions as well.

The biggest bottleneck of Xbox Cloud Gaming is the supported regions. Only a handful of countries have access to it, which locks out a huge chunk of gamers from being able to play their games on the go.

Those in the following countries with the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan will be able to play cloud games on the Fire TV Stick, starting in July 2024:

  • Argentina
  • Austria
  • Australia
  • Belgium
  • Brazil
  • Canada
  • Czechia
  • Denmark
  • Finland
  • France
  • Germany
  • Hungary
  • Ireland
  • Italy
  • Japan
  • Korea
  • Mexico
  • Netherlands
  • New Zealand
  • Norway
  • Poland
  • Portugal
  • Slovakia
  • Spain
  • Sweden
  • Switzerland
  • United Kingdom
  • United States

Although the list includes a huge chunk of the world's population, a massive portion is left out. Unfortunately, gamers in these locations will have to wait for the time being.
